Biosphere's first Bio Swimming Pool - chemical-free, crystal clear, in the heart of the city.
What was built
A Bio Swimming Pool in the Race Course area of Coimbatore, with a counter-current system installed so the swimmer can swim in place against a steady flow - useful in a pool sized for a city plot rather than for laps.
The water is kept crystal clear by ECO-O3, our in-line ozone polishing system, which does the oxidative work that keeps the pool clear and cuts the maintenance load. Tiled, structured, unmistakably a pool - with the biology and the polishing doing quietly what chlorine would have done in a conventional pool of this size.
This is the first Bio Swimming Pool Biosphere has built.
Why it matters
Until this build, every Biosphere project was a pond, a cascade, or a lake. The Race Course pool is the proof point for the Bio Swimming Pool product - a pool that looks and behaves like a modern swimming pool, on a compact urban plot, filtered biologically and polished with ECO-O3 rather than dosed with chlorine. The counter-current makes a small pool swimmable for exercise; the ECO-O3 keeps it clear with far less upkeep than a chlorinated pool would need.
